ANGKLUNG Angklung is a world-renowned traditional Indonesian idiophone percussion instrument crafted entirely from high-quality bamboo , originating from the ancient Sundanese culture of West Java. Historically, this unique instrument dates back to the 12th century during the Sunda Kingdom era, where it functioned primarily as a sacred spiritual tool in agrarian rituals. It was traditionally played to honor Dewi Sri (the Goddess of Rice and fertility) to ensure soil prosperity and a successful harvest. Due to its profound cultural significance and the deep-rooted philosophy of mutual cooperation (gotong royong), UNESCO officially recognized Angklung as a Masterpiece of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity in 2010.
